The Cambridge Beer Festival Winter is a combination of two smaller festivals, making this the biggest and best beer festival that Cambridge has ever held. Held in the University social club, the festival is organised by CAMRA, the Campaign for Real Ale and helps promote real ale, real cider and traditional British pubs. At the Cambridge Beer Festival, there will be over 100 real ales and cider available as well as meads and German beers. Visitors are given a beer list to inform you about which beers are available at the festival and where to find them. You will also be given a commemorative glass that you use to taste your beer or cider of choice. This can be kept as a souvenir to be used at home for plenty more beer tasting.
As the main event of the festival, there will be around 80 beers from 40 unique breweries from across the British Isles. This includes some old family brewers as well as some of the best up and coming microbreweries from every corner of the UK. At the festival this year there will be a forging beer bar that will serve a range German draught beer. For non-beer drinkers, there will also be around 10 ciders and perries for visitors to enjoy. Once you’ve had a couple of pints you’ll likely be hungry but don’t worry as there will be hot food available provided by the kitchen at the University.
Note, please check the event website before attending. Dates can change and events can get cancelled, we can not be held responsible.
