Rated as ‘one of the world’s most interesting food festivals this year’ by the New York Times last year, the East Midlands Food Festival returns for another year to showcase the best food and drink from the East Midlands and beyond.
Hosted in the home of the pork pie, Melton Mowbray, the festival will offer live demonstrations from celebrity chefs including TV’s Rachel Green and Jo Pratt, a Street Food Zone with dishes from around the world, and around 200 stands including a Wall of Chocolate, Trappist Beer brewed by Monks and locally produced spirits. There will be plenty to discover, sample and buy.
If the food and drink aren’t enough to keep visitors entertained, Leicester’s award-winning De Montfort University Gospel Choir and the Melstrum Ukelele Band will be there to add to the atmosphere. There will also be a Kids’ Zone with plenty of food themed activities to keep them entertained and help them learn about food.
The festival is organised by the Melton Mowbray Food Partnership with main sponsorship from Samworth Brothers and supported by the Melton Mowbray Market.
